Gala

I think it's fun to dress up and was excited for the chance to go on a fancy date with my husband. Cameron is amazing,  he has been working nights all this week, only getting about 5 hours of sleep when he gets home in the morning, He finished his last night and slept for a hour and a half then got up to support Grant playing soccer, then coached Dallin's team while I ran back and forth between Katelyn and Dallin's game, then he took the kids to the library while I rushed to get our bountiful basket, we then went home and I convinced Cameron to lay down for a little longer but he only slept for about 2 hours because he wanted to spend time with the kids,  so he was more then a bit tired at the Gala, but you wouldn't know it... except the snoring during the live auction... just kidding.
We got to hang out with a few of our favorite people.  Brianna's husband is a year ahead of Cameron in Radiology. We've loved having them around to give us a preview of the year to come... plus they are fun to be around.
Randi is one of my all time favorite people to be around.  so I was excited when she was going to be coming to the Gala too.
The girls at our table took a picture together with our princess crowns. It was a princess and the frog theme.  they had squishy frogs that we brought home to the kids, a big hit. I was also excited to see Rachel there.  She is someone I wish I could be around more,  it was so fun to visit with her and everyone else.  It was such a fun night and we were so grateful to be able to go and leave our kids with some great friends.

Sitting up

Last week I wanted to take the kids pictures with the blue bonnets, but there was one problem, Lilly and Peter didn't know how to sit up yet, taking outdoor pictures of babies who don't sit up is difficult. so I helped them practice sitting up all week and the next week we went out and took some pictures.
Peter was not thrilled with this idea. he's just like his brothers...
Lilly was happy to pose and smile... just like her sister, most of the time.  it must be a girl thing.

St Patrick's Day

The day before St Patrick's day I made a special shamrock pancake breakfast, yes that green blob on a stem is my sad attempt at a shamrock, all I have to say is the kids loved it!
They had to eat it on our Valentine's day plates. We have a hard time keeping our holidays separate... all day Grant kept saying tomorrow is Sunday so that means it's Easter. He was pretty disappointed to find out that we still have a few weeks until Easter.
It was pretty funny to hear their conversation as they ate breakfast. Grant said sometime I couldn't distinguish then Katelyn says, "I'm starting to think that Grant is French" then Dallin Pips up, "Me too, because I didn't understand anything he says" so there you go.
Lilly Sported her cute green stripe shirt.  She got the most compliments.
Katelyn got the prize for wearing the most green,  she was green from head to toe,  she also got the prize for being the most enthusiastic about setting the leprechaun trap.  We made a trap last year and reused it this year.  This year Todd the leprechaun left us candy dots.  it was a hit.
In the afternoon we took the kids to a near by park and had our own soccer game on the soccer field.  Katelyn kept trying to trick up by pretending that she wasn't playing and then when the ball passed her, popping up off the ground, and scoring a goal,  I told her that trick only works once.  overall it was a good game and it was fun to run around with the kids.
Peter was a great green cheerleader
Dallin was the best player,  He didn't once quit.  Grant was funny, he and Daddy were on the same team and he kept yelling to Cameron, "I'll be over here if you need me"
Dallin doing his cool victory, sun glasses dance.... because he can.

St Patrick's day isn't complete without rainbow cupcakes... ok so this is the first year I've attempted them and it was more work then I thought,  but the kids loved them.

Blue Bonnets

It's that time of year again where Everyone in Texas seeks out the perfect patch of blue bonnets and then they try to force their kids to smile and pose for the perfect picture.

We didn't get the perfect picture but sometimes you take what you can get and that's just how it's going to be.
This little guy was happy to smile for the camera.
Katelyn was such a great help. We attempted to get a shot with just the babies, they aren't quite sitting up on their own yet so it didn't work out so great.
I Have such great kids.

Lilly is 6 Months old

say what? That can not be.
Lilly loves her voice.  and currently she likes to growl at and attack things.  I"m pretty sure that's what she's doing in this picture.

Lilly and Peter rotate through the play mat, bumbo, excersauser thingy, and the bouncer, they usually last about 15 minutes before they are ready for a change and if it's 30 minutes or sooner before their next feeding they don't want to have anything to do with any of it and that's when I hold them both while pacing the house looking at all the stuff I should clean... it's fun.
I think Lilly perfers sitting in the bouncer like this,  because this is how I find her every time.  I know, maybe i should buckle her in, but you see, she cries when I do that.

I hate to say it but it took me a minute to figure out if this was Lilly or Peter... it's Lilly and she is at the pool.  she didn't love the cold water, and I felt like a bad mom watching her shiver in the water so I got her out and dry, hopefully next time will be a little warmer.

The kid's friends call this hairstyle "Tree Head."  That seems about right.  I discovered 2 weeks ago that Lilly had enough hair for a little ponytail.  It makes her look even more like Katelyn.

This is day after hair. I'm pretty sure Lilly's the only one who can pull that off...

Chowing down Peter style

Peter didn't embrace solids like I thought he would.  He is most like Dallin in practically everything and Dallin LOVED rice cereal, and since Peter is such a great bottle drinker I thought for sure he would eat it up... literally.   It took Peter about a month before he decided he liked it. and now he seems to have things figured out.  He is much easier to feed then Lilly and not nearly as messy.

Peter almost always has his mouth open, he either has a huge smile or this open mouth stare... and then of course every so often he's screaming...   his hair looks red in this picture... but in real life it's not... or at lease I don't think it is... I'll have to look when he wakes up.

Peter is 6 Months old

That doesn't even seem possible.
Peter is just about the cutest happiest little boy.  it's hard to tell in these pictures but he always has a huge smile on his face.  He is pretty coordinated, he was the first to figure out how to take his binky out and put it back in his mouth, he gave me a little scare when he discovered his thumb but thankfully I think he prefers the binky,  whew.

He got to experience the pool for the first time.  he loved it. we knew he would he loves bath time and kicks like a champ in the bathtub.
he is our drooling boy.  his chin isn't complete without a dribble of drool dripping down. (try saying that 5 times fast)
it took him a while to decide to like being spoon fed.  it wasn't until he got some sweet potatoes with his rice cereal that he decided it wasn't soo bad.  Now he seems to like it fine.
We sure love this little guy.  He is such a happy, lovable, sweet little man.

Chowing down Lilly style

pretty much everything Lilly does is messy and food is no exception.  She has such an overactive tongue that it's hard to get anything in to start with and then what we do get in mostly comes right back out. she does seem to swallow so I know she's getting something. so far she's tried sweet potatoes, carrots and green beans. her favorite seems to be green beans.
Cameron is much better at feeding the babies then I am, I'm not sure if it's because I get impatient and try to put way too much in each bite or if it's because Cameron makes the faces... you know the ones parents make when they are feeding their baby...

He is trying not to make the face in this picture... it's almost working...

Just because...

I love these pictures, I love that it's the beginning of February and we have blossoms on our pear tree...  ok I love it for now but it does make me a bit concerned for how hot this summer could be when we have had such a warm winter...  I love that I can put Lilly's hair up into a little ponytail... isn't it cute? and I love that Peter looks so handsome in his little suit.  We are loving life,  we Love having twins, don't get me wrong, it's not easy, but we do love it.
