Beach Bum

A Trip to Naples FL isn’t complete without going to the beach. This was probably the first time Dallin got to spend most of his time out of the car seat and he loved it. He loved the sand, the waves, the sand, his hat, the sand, the cool beach towel, the sand, and did I mention the sand? He was so curious about that grainy stuff; He wanted to feel it on his hands and feet. He did everything he could to reach it. Fortunately he can’t move much, I’m sure that if he could crawl, there would be no stopping him.

An Evening at the Zoo

We took Katelyn and Dallin to the Zoo on August 11th for one of their "Summer Surfari Nights" Where all the rides are free and the zoo stays open 9pm it was great! Dallin was so content and easy going and Katelyn loved it because her best friend Cason Cole was there too.

Katleyn LOVES watermelon! in fact I'm pretty sure she thinks it's one of the five basic food groups along with popsicles and cereal. She could eat those three things all day everyday.
Dallin in his cute duck towel. He loves taking a bath, he kick, wiggles and squirms all over the place cooing the entire time. Katelyn thinks she is such a big girl because she gets to help rinse him off once I've put soap on his head and body.

Cuddle Time

This was taken July 20th. Sometimes Katelyn likes me to hold her while I'm holding Dallin. She gets a big kick out of doing the same things he does. She is such a great big sister!

Giddy up

At two months old Dallin is already getting his first piggy back ride. This is one of Katelyn's favorite activities... I'm sure Dallin will appreciate it more when is is a bit older.

Dallin is 2 months old and has started smiling at us. Those first smiles are so precious and so hard to capture on film.

Crazy Hair Katelyn

Katelyn has always had a lot of hair. Now most of the time when she wakes up in the morning it's out of control, but she doesn't mind. she is beautiful!

The day before Dallin was born Katelyn looked like a baby, so I couldn't believe how big she was when she came to visit us at the hospital. It seems she grew up in one day. Although Katelyn is a wonderful big sister I've come to realize that really I have two babies. She is still my little girl.

whoa momma

I am officially large, and I feel it,  it's such a chore to do simple things like bending over. Cameron has to give me a little push when I want to roll over in bed. but  I am sure excited to meet this little guy soon.  I am so blessed to be a mother.

Our little swimmer

Katelyn loves the water. She would almost rather be in water then anywhere else. Her other favorite spot is the front seat of our car, I think if those two places were combined she would be in heaven. She has no fear of the water, and hasn't realized yet that she doesn't float. She is always in our arms or an inner tube. And has little reason to think that she would be in danger on her own. But that's not a lesson I'm willing to teach though trial and error. so for now we will just enjoy "Mimmin".

Katelyn June 2005

Katelyn loves black beans, she could eat them all day, of course that wouldn't be very good for anyone involved but still she loves them.
I have kept busy with Katelyn and various projects. I'm trying to sew a crib set for her. It's proven to be much more difficult then I had imagined. But I have been somewhat persistent and after two months I have finished (with help from my mother-in-law) 2 sheets and one of the four sides of the bumper. Plus I have painted some very cute wooden pegs and other cute decorations for the room. I am planning to make curtains, a crib skirt, pillows, basket liners, a laundry bag, a diaper stacker and a little hanging organizer before we move. I am also planning to run a marathon, lose 20 pounds, invent something useful (I'm not sure what yet so if you have any ideas...) and teach Katelyn to read before her first birthday. We will just have to see what happens.

Katelyn loves holding things, she puts everything and anything in her mouth. she has gotten pretty good at it too.

May 2005 Trip to Florida

We finally made it. After being on the road for more than 2 weeks we have settled at last. You’re probably thinking “I know a trip from Utah to Florida is a long drive, but two weeks?” the truth is we stopped in Nauvoo Illinois for a few days and then in Lexington Virginia for a week so it would have taken us a little more then 4 days if we had driven straight here, but we enjoyed the detour. And I’m not sure if Katelyn would have been a chipper little traveling buddy if we had tried to do it without a few long stops. She only tolerated about a day and a half of driving before she let us know she was through which was fine because that’s how long it took us to get to Nauvoo from Provo.

Nauvoo is BEAUTIFUL. It’s a quiet little town that makes you feel like you went back in time a while. There are lots of cute little shops that close at 6pm or 7pm. Everyone knows his neighbors and people actually say hi to you on the street. We discovered how fun it is to take Katelyn places. She Loves people and people seem to love her. She watches them, waiting for them to look at her so she can dazzle them with the cutest little smile. And then she turns away pretending to be shy. It never fails she captures one heart after another. We loved it in Nauvoo.

We stayed longer then we had planned and had to drive to Lexington in one day we started driving at 5am Illinois’ time and arrived in Lexington 9pm Virginia time. We arrived just in time to watch the fireworks celebrating Cameron’s brother, Adam’s graduation from Washington and Lee law school. We played with Adam and Kristin and their two boys for a few days then drove to D.C. to see our nation’s capitol with every elementary, junior and high school student within a day’s journey. If you are planning a trip to Washington D.C. in the month of May, be sure to go on a weekend, or at least avoid going on a Thursday and Friday. We Loved DC it was amazing to see the history of this country up close and personal. After DC we went back to Lexington and on down to Naples Florida. We arrived here Tuesday afternoon. This has been a great experience for someone who just a few years ago hadn’t been farther east then Billings Montana.

We are all doing well. We have spent this week going to the beach, swimming at the pool, catering a graduation, shopping and washing the bugs from 13 different states off our car. Rumor has it I will be working in the Primary as the music leader in our ward this summer. Cameron has started work with his dad doing construction. I’m sure after being in the sun all day he will fit right in with elderly in Florida who spend all day at the beach in their Speedos and bikinis, while I, on the other hand will constantly be asked if I just got here due to my lack of tan. Oh well.
